The legacy of the Golden Mile traces back to Alfonso von Hohenlohe’s acquisition of the Santa Margarita estate, which birthed the iconic Marbella Club in 1954. This five-star resort became synonymous with glamour, attracting luminaries such as Ava Gardner, Deborah Kerr, Omar Shariff, Sean Connery, and Liza Minelli. Following suit, the Puente Romano Hotel emerged, rivaling the Marbella Club in fame.
